Describe your spiritual journey so far.
I have grown up as a christian but I truly feel my spiritual journey really got a kick-start after having my daughter, Mikaela.  I viewed God in a totally new light.  He is my Father and now I found myself in the parenting role.  I looked at my child with such love and I thought, "Wow this must be how God feels about me."  I always felt so bad about myself and I knew I didn't want my daughter to grow up thinking negatively about herself.  The thought of her not liking herself for any reason really pained me.  I thought about how God must have felt about my negative thinking and it really just changed me.  I know that this was the point that I truly began to start maturing as a christian.  I wanted to find the right church for my family to attend and God lead me to Fairmount Free Methodist Church.  I cannot begin to express what a blessing the church and it's family has been for me and my family.  I have grown and changed in a positive way ever since we began attending the church 5 years ago.

What was one of the must crucial points along the way?
Having my children.

How has Sojourn changed your idea of what church is?
It has really changed my idea about church.  It makes me see that church doesn't need to have a strict formula to be followed every week.  I think it challenges me to change and grow.  It gives me a chance to journal and think about the message. There are times we are encouraged to discuss ideas right there in church!  We are creatures of comfort and like things to stay the same.  Sojourn forces me to get out of that comfort zone and that is really the only time we ever truly unfurl those wings that we get so determined to keep tucked safely at our sides.

My favorite season is Fall and I live everything associated with it. I enjoy the smell of the leaves, going to pumpkin farms, watching the kids jump in piles of leaves, and wearing jeans and sweaters!
